How do I find my purpose in life?

I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves when we talk about purpose. We act like there's this one big thing we're supposed to figure out, and once we find it, suddenly everything will make sense.

I'm not sure I believe that's how purpose works. I think your purpose can change as you change. What gave your life meaning ten or twenty years ago may not be what gives your life meaning today, and that doesn't mean you were on the wrong path. It means you've lived. You've grown. You've had experiences that have changed you.

And sometimes I think we're so busy looking for this big, important purpose that we miss the things that are already giving our lives meaning. Maybe purpose isn't always about what you're supposed to do with your life. Maybe it's also about how you want to live your life. Who do you want to be? What matters to you now? What makes you feel connected, curious, useful, creative, or alive?

Those questions can tell you a lot.

And if you're in a season where you don't know what your purpose is, I don't think that means you're lost. Maybe you're simply in a place where the old answers don't fit anymore and the new ones haven't quite become clear yet. You don't need to force an answer just so you can say you have one. Just give yourself permission to live, pay attention, and allow purpose to reveal itself along the way.

Consider this, what if your purpose isn't one thing you're supposed to find? What if it's something you continue to discover as you become more of you?
