What Are the Benefits of Working With a Life Coach?

Working with a life coach can help you gain clarity, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and have support and accountability as you make meaningful changes in your life.

Sometimes we know exactly what we want to change, but actually changing it is another story. Other times, we just know something feels off. We may feel stuck, disconnected, uncertain about what's next, or frustrated because we keep finding ourselves in the same situations. That's where coaching can be incredibly helpful.

I don't believe a coach should tell you how to live your life. You are the one living it. My role is to ask questions you may not have thought to ask yourself, help you recognize patterns that can be difficult to see when you're standing in the middle of them, and help you get clear about what you actually want.

A big part of my work also involves understanding where those patterns came from. Y ou may recognize that you people-please, struggle with boundaries, avoid conflict, or feel responsible for everyone else's emotions. Through coaching and inner-child work, we can look at the experiences that shaped those patterns and ask an important question: Does this still serve the person I am becoming?

Understanding the pattern is one piece. Changing it is another. Coaching gives you a place to take what you're learning about yourself and begin putting it into practice. We can look at what's working, what keeps getting in the way, and what you want to do differently moving forward. That's also where accountability comes in. Having someone alongside you who knows what you’re working toward can help you stay focused and keep moving forward, especially when old patterns start showing up again.

Is Life Coaching Right for You?

A life coach can't change your life for you. What a good coach can do is help you understand what's keeping you stuck, get clear about what you want, recognize what's ready to change, and support you as you begin creating something different.

Ultimately, the decisions are still yours. It's your life. You get to decide what you want to do with it.
